Crochet Pattern: Comfort Carbs Baguette – Funny / Inspirational Crochet Bread Plush
Pin it for later!
I’m so excited to share the first pattern from my new crochet collection, Comfort Carbs! This design is inspired by Emotional Support Nuggets (based on my Chicky Nuggies pattern). My “basket” of nuggets is a craft fair bestseller at the shows I attend, so I thought I’d expand to include some warm, cozy breads that offer some humor and positive thoughts, too!
Meet the Comfort Carb Baguette — a deliciously cute crocheted baguette that can be made with or without safety eyes! What makes this pattern special is pockets that are crocheted between the “scores” of the bread. They’re designed especially for including thoughtful messages to the person you’re gifting the baguette to! And to save you some time, I’ve gone ahead and created a printable PDF of messages that you can include in your baguette (included at the end of the pattern)!
These little loaves are perfect for emotional support gifts, teacher gifts, and most of all – craft fairs and markets! They work up quickly and have endless possibilities when it comes to customization.

This baguette can be made as a classic plush or as an amigurumi friend simply by adding safety eyes!
The Comfort Carbs Collection is a playful crochet series inspired by cozy baked goods and the comfort they bring. Each pattern includes little spaces where you can tuck hidden notes, making them perfect for gifts, encouragement, or craft fair surprises.
This Baguette is the first design in the series!

Between the “scores” of the baguette are small pockets where you can tuck little messages.
You can add:
• encouragement notes
• jokes
• affirmations
• sweet messages for a friend
I’ve also included a printable message sheet you can cut out and use inside your baguette gifts! Look for it at the end of the pattern!

It saves time and yarn to carry yarns as you change colors. When making the beige “split” in the bread, carry gold yarn behind the stitches being worked (first photo below). When switching back to gold yarn to finish the round, carry beige yarn around to the start of where beige was first used; then it can be pulled up when it is needed again three rounds later (second photo below).
