We are in the heart of summertime now, and it’s the perfect time to crochet these fun, fast, and easy Watermelon Flip Flops! You can use your favorite pair of flip flops, or buy new ones just for this project – but don’t feel like you need to break the bank, either! I got mine at Dollar Tree and I’m thrilled with how they came out! Whether you’re headed to the beach or just out running errands, these flip flops are the perfect comfy summer footwear that you can say you made yourself!

Since I’m quickly getting closer to finishing up my summer crafts and moving on to prepping for fall patterns, I wanted my last flip flop pattern to be something that had an unmistakable summer look. What better motif than watermelons?! If there was an official fruit of summertime, I’m pretty sure watermelons would be a top contender for the spot!

(Pin it for later!)

Can you guess which yarn I used for these? If you guessed Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton, then you’re right! I have really enjoyed using this lightweight, sturdy cotton yarn for my summer projects. Not only is it durable enough for attaching to flip flops, but it’s also very breathable and comes in tons of fun colors! For this pattern, I used Rose, White, and Grass Green (find them on Amazon HERE), HERE, and HERE, respectively).

I also think it would be super cute to try the colorway “Red” for the melon part, so someone should give that a shot and let me know how it goes!

So are you ready to have summer fun with this Watermelon flip flop pattern?! Then let’s go!
