Comfort Carbs: Bagel – Crochet Plush Pattern to Customize with Inspirational Messages!
Pin it for later!

I’m so excited to share the second pattern from my new crochet collection, Comfort Carbs! The first design in this series, my Comfort Carbs Baguette, has been so much fun to make and share! You just know I had to expand the collection with none other than a cute little bagel!
Meet the Comfort Carb Bagel — an adorable crocheted baked good that can be customized with tiny messages! What makes this pattern special is a pocket that is made from each piece of “cream cheese” on each half of the bagel. These pockets are designed especially for including thoughtful messages to the person you’re gifting the bagel to! And to save you some time, I’ve gone ahead and created a printable PDF of messages that you can include inside the cream cheese of your bagel (included at the end of the pattern)!
These bagels are made with amazing gifting potential in mind – think emotional support gifts, teacher gifts, and most of all: craft fairs and markets! They work up quickly and have endless possibilities when it comes to customization.

This bagel can be made as a classic plush or as an amigurumi friend simply by adding safety eyes!

The Comfort Carbs Collection is a playful crochet series inspired by cozy baked goods and the comfort they bring. Each pattern includes little spaces where you can tuck hidden notes, making them perfect for gifts, encouragement, or craft fair surprises.
This Bagel is the second pattern in the series – you can also find my first one here on the blog: Comfort Carbs Baguette!

There are small pockets on each half of the bagel, that are made as a part of the cream cheese, where you can tuck little messages.
You can add:
• encouragement notes
• jokes
• affirmations
• sweet messages for a friend
I’ve also included a printable message sheet you can cut out and use inside your bagel gifts! Look for it at the end of the pattern!

Finishing
Before sewing the tops and bottoms of each Bagel Half together to close piece, sew each Cream Cheese to each Bagel Half (this helps to be able to work needle back and forth into stitches – first photo). Secure both the outer and inner edges, as well as sewing several stitches throughout about ¾ of the Cream Cheese piece to fully secure to the Bagel. Leave about ¼ of one Cream Cheese edge open, to use as a pocket for messages (second photo, third, fourth and fifth photos).
Sew top and bottom edges of Bagel Halves together to close pieces (sixth and seventh photos – eighth photo shows finished piece).
Weave in all ends or tie off knots and and inside sts.

Here is the finished Bagel!!!

I’ve included a printable sheet of sample messages you can use inside your bagels.
