These Emotional Support Nuggets are the latest in my collection of emotional support crochet patterns! They’re soft, squishy, and the perfect pick me up for anyone! If you like my Comfort Carbs, then you’ll love these fast, fun, cute and easy chicken nuggets!
Meet the Emotional Support Nuggets — an adorable crocheted food that’s both authentic and cute looking! What makes this pattern special is that you can make as many of these little nuggets as you want, and present them in a fast food carton for extra aesthetic!
These nuggets are made with amazing gifting potential in mind – think emotional support gifts, teacher gifts, and most of all: craft fairs and markets! They work up quickly and have endless possibilities when it comes to customization.

My Emotional Support foods are part of a playful crochet series inspired by “comfort foods” and the joy they bring. They’re perfect as gifts, for craft fairs, etc.!

Materials
Size 8 mm (L-11) crochet hook
Bulky weight (6) sherpa yarn in golden-beige color – about 25 yds for set of three nuggets (Bernat Sheepy in Ochre used in photos)
Fabric glue (Aleene’s brand used in photos)
Yarn needle
Scissors
12 mm safety eyes
Fast Food carton (optional)
Abbreviations
*= indicates beginning/end of a section to be repeated
Ch = chain
Rep = repeat
Sc = single crochet
St(s) = stitch(es)
Gauge
Exact gauge is not essential to this project.
Measurements
Each nugget measures about 2 inches wide by 3 inches long
Notes
• Pattern written in US crochet terms
• Stitch counts are listed in parentheses
Instructions
Nugget (make 3)
Ch 6.
Row 1 – sc in 2nd ch from hook, and in each st across. Ch 1, turn (5 sc)
Rows 2 – 7 – rep Rnd 1. Do not ch 1 at end of Row 7. (First photo shows piece at this stage.)
Shaping
With wrong sides facing each other, fold piece in half. Sl st through each of the next 5 sts. Now working through top of piece, evenly make 3 sc. Fasten off, leaving long end for sewing. (Second photo shows piece at this stage.)
Attaching eyes
Before moving forward with the rest of Shaping, apply glue to each eye and place them towards the top edge of piece; fasten with washers.
Shaping, con’t.
Thread yarn needle with fastened off end and carry it to center of piece. Work needle between stitches and pull tightly; do this through front and back one or two times to cinch middle of piece. Carry yarn to bottom edge and sew through both sides of bottom to close piece.
Weave in ends.
Rep 3 times to make 3 nuggets, or as many as desired. Third and fourth photos show finished piece(s).
