Meet the Smitten Kitten – a heartwarming little amigurumi cat who is here to make your Valentine’s Day a little sweeter! This adorable design is both festive and easy to make. The mix of pink, white, and red is perfect for the most romantic day of the year, and the simple chibi design makes this little kitty work up very fast!

Pin it for later!

What an adorable gift this would make for your sweetheart, a friend or family member, or just to use as some adorable home decor to celebrate Valentine’s Day! The possibilities are endless. And since this fabulous feline doesn’t take much yarn to complete, you can make a whole litter if you want!

So why make a smitten kitten? Well, the most obvious answer is that I love cats (it’s even in my name!), but I actually did have a specific purpose in mind when designing this kitty! Last week, I published the pattern for Puppy Love – An Amigurumi Valentine’s Day Dog, and I didn’t want the pup to be lonely! Enter Smitten Kitten – Puppy Love’s Valentine’s Day sweetheart! (You can find the pattern for Puppy Love HERE – make them both to have an adorable Valentine’s duo!)

I’ve been making lots of amigurumi lately, and thought it was worth mentioning the kind of stuffing I use! There are different schools of thought on how to stuff amigurumi dolls and animals – some use beans or even scraps of yarn! Both of those are viable options, but I personally love using fiberfill stuffing in my amigurumi pieces. One bag will make a whole ton of critters, and it makes the work soft, snuggly and squishy! You can find some great stuffing on Amazon HERE!

Another great thing about this little smitten kitten is that it’s great for cat lovers, specifically! What a great way to wish the cat lover in your life a purr-fect Valentine’s Day! And if you know someone who loves cats and dogs equally, what a cute couple Puppy Love and Smitten Kitten would be to gift to them this Valentine’s Day!

Let’s get started right meow on this adorable pattern!
